Barely a hundred hectares of gallery forest along a stream, The Gambia's first protected area and its easiest to visit: one looping trail, a hide over the crocodile pool and monkeys everywhere, from red colobus to vervets. More than three hundred bird species have been recorded on this patch of ground, half an hour from the tourist coast.
