The capital of Hammurabi and Nebuchadnezzar on the Euphrates, for long stretches the largest city on earth. You walk the processional way between brick walls with their relief dragons and bulls, past a reconstruction of the Ishtar Gate; the original is in Berlin. No trace of the Hanging Gardens has ever been found, which takes nothing away from standing here.
