A stone tower-house of 1580, bought by the valleys' councils in 1702 and serving for three centuries as Andorra's parliament. The Council Chamber survives with its wooden benches and the Cupboard of the Seven Keys, which held the country's charters and could only be opened with a representative of every parish present. It is the size of a mountain farmhouse, and that gap between the building and the decisions taken in it is the whole point.
