Under the Silica karst plateau runs a twenty-five-kilometre system that continues into Hungary as the Baradla — one cave, split by a border. The tour follows the underground Styx stream, and when the water is high part of it is done by boat. The shield formations and cave pearls are rare; Neolithic people lived here and left pottery and hearths behind.
