A hundred and eighty metres of stepped water dropping over travertine terraces straight into the sea, which is rare anywhere in the Caribbean. The rock is constantly deposited and renewed, which is why you can climb the falls barefoot, in a human chain, hand in hand. At the top the tropical forest closes it in shade.
