A near-perfect circular shaft three hundred metres across and a hundred and twenty deep, ink-blue in the middle of the turquoise reef. It was a limestone cave when sea levels were low in the last ice age; as the water rose, the roof gave way. Below forty metres divers meet tilted stalactites, left over from when that ceiling stood in dry air.
