Nine hundred and fifty-three latticed windows on a facade five storeys high and barely one room deep, built so the women of the court could watch the street unseen. Its name means palace of the winds: those openings keep the inside cool at forty degrees. From the street it looks like a pink honeycomb; inside it is a long corridor of filtered light.
