Europe's highest railway station sits at 3,454 metres in the saddle between the Jungfrau and the Mönch, reached through a tunnel bored into the mountain a century ago. From the Sphinx observation deck the Aletsch Glacier unrolls south to the horizon; an ice palace is carved into the glacier itself. Go on a clear day or you will pay a lot to stand inside a cloud.
