Finland's largest lake is really a maze of water with close to fourteen thousand islands and a shoreline nobody can draw. You explore it by boat or canoe, sleeping in timber cabins with a sauna at the water's edge. It is the only home of the Saimaa ringed seal, of which a few hundred remain.
