A basalt monolith five hundred and fifty metres high closing the island's south-western tip, ringed by turquoise lagoon. Runaway slaves hid for years on its near-inaccessible summit, and that — not the postcard — is why the mountain is UNESCO-listed. The climb is steep and taken with a guide; below, the reliable wind has made this the island's kitesurfing beach.
