A 17th-century patrician house on the edge of the Hofvijver pond, a handful of rooms holding some of the best-known paintings in Europe: Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring and View of Delft, Rembrandt's Anatomy Lesson, Fabritius's Goldfinch. You can see all of it comfortably in two hours, and the small scale is exactly the point. It is the main reason to stop in The Hague.
