Six kilometres of white chalk cliffs, up to 128 metres high, dropping into a sea turned turquoise by the limestone seabed. Wooden stairs lead down to the shore, where seventy-million-year-old fossil sea urchins turn up among the flints. The beech wood on top grows bent by the wind.
