๐History & Curiosities
A castle of 1475 planted on a rock in the middle of the Saimaa waters, built by the Swedes to hold off the Russians and captured more than once. Its three round towers can only be seen on a guided tour, up impossibly narrow stairs cut inside the walls. Each July the courtyard becomes the stage of the opera festival.
